The Y-20(Chinese designation:Y-20,code name:Kunpeng,English:Xian Y-20)is a new generation of large military transport aircraft developed by China,which made its first flight on January 26,2013.
As a large multi-purpose transport aircraft,it can carry out long-distance air transport tasks of various materials and personnel under complex meteorological conditions.Compared with the active IL-76 of the Chinese Air Force,the engine and electronic equipment of the Y-20 have been greatly improved,the carrying capacity has also been improved,and the short-runway take-off and landing performance is excellent.
The Y-20 aircraft was developed with reference to the aerodynamic shape and structural design of the Russian Il-76,incorporating some features of the American C-17.The Y-20 has a conventional layout with cantilevered upper wing,swept leading edge and wingless winglets for high extensibility,reliability and safety.As a large multi-purpose transport aircraft,Y-20 can carry out long-distance air transport tasks of various materials and personnel under complex meteorological conditions.
