The J-10 fighter (English: J-10 or F-10, NATO codename: Firebird) is a single-seat, single-engine fourth-generation fighter aircraft independently developed by Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corporation of China Aviation Industry Corporation from the late 1980s. With high-thrust turbofan engine and duck aerodynamic layout, it is a medium, multi-function, supersonic, all-weather air superiority fighter. The Chinese Air Force gave it the serial number of J-10, externally known as J-10 or F-10.

In January 2004, the 132nd Regiment of the 44th Division of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force was the first batch to be equipped with J-10.

On November 5, 2009, the J-10's No. 1001 first flight prototype was publicly displayed at the China Aviation Museum for the first time, and the performance of the J-10 was disclosed in the form of graphic panels.
