FC-1 fighter(Chinese code:Xiaolong,English:Chengdu FC-1/JF-17,Pakistani code:JF-17,code:Thunder,Chinese:Thunder is an all-weather,single-engine,single-seat,multi-role light fighter jointly invested by China and Pakistan,jointly developed by Chengdu Aircraft Industry(Group)Co.,LTD.,Chengdu Aircraft Design and Research Institute,China Aviation Technology Import and Export Corporation and other units,and participated in the development of Pakistan Air Force.

FC-1 fighter,with outstanding low altitude and high subsonic maneuverability,good interception and ground attack ability,large range,air time and combat radius,excellent short takeoff and landing characteristics and strong weapon mounting ability.The aircraft adopts the normal layout of medium aspect ratio edge wing and advanced aerodynamic shape,equipped with large thrust,low fuel consumption turbofan engine,advanced digital fly-by-wire flight control system,integrated avionics and weapon system,which can launch medium-range bombs and achieve multi-target over-the-horizon attack capability.It has a variety of advanced precision navigation,battlefield situational awareness,target detection and identification,combat attack and electronic warfare functions.

The FC-1,initially known as the"Super-7",was designed on 31 May 2002 and made its first flight on 25 August 2003.Due to the use of advanced design and manufacturing technology,the FC-1 can achieve the comprehensive combat effectiveness of third-generation fighters,and can compete with the current advanced fighters,while having the characteristics of light,low cost,to meet the needs of modern warfare and international military aircraft market.

FC-1 fighter(JF-17)is China's first authorized overseas production of the overall technology export model,has been batch equipped with Pakistan Air Force,and many countries are interested in buying.
